WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

 

The Innovative Project Leader is to lead and supervise all the activities, workflow, progress and resources during the whole project cycle for those IKEA new touch point establishment and other new projects in DF IKEA NA markets.

 

1) Project and Resources Planning

  • Work closely with the Head of Business Innovation and Business Innovation Manager to define the assigned project's mission, goals, direction, concept, scope, tasks, timeframe, resources & compliance requirements, process & workflow. Simplify complex projects from multi-prospective
  • Act as the key contact point for the project, effectively developing, coaching, communicating and leading cross-functional high performance team(s) for IKEA new projects from the planning stage, project implementation, completion & handover

 

2) Project Management

  • Complete the project brief and contents, delegate and manipulate the team's workload, establish easy, accurate & transparent communication for efficiency & effectiveness. Circulate information and reporting flow to different stakeholders across the organization
  • Lead & steer the project, monitor and supervise the project execution & progress against the clearly defined milestone and agreed resources, retain control of the project all the time, identify improvement potential, foresee possible risks & show stoppers, provide defect rectification action plan and resolution across different functions, resolve any internal & external divergence & conflict, and guarantee the projects can be completed within the agreed parameters
  • Play a proactive role in providing the decision maker/management team a timely project overview, status update, and analysis of requirements that significantly impact strategic direction and final deliverables, promptly recommend and implement commercially sensible solutions
  • Organize, host and chair regular cross-functional project team meetings, and attend the individual function meetings (e.g. touch point venue, design, construction, store operation, product range) if necessary

 

3) Financials & Controlling

  • Oversee and track the individual function expenditure in-line with the agreed budget and keep project budget up-to-date. Facilitate the project tenders and negotiate the contract terms if necessary for maximum cost savings or extra benefits, with the support of the procurement and corresponding functional team member, and at the same time maintain the integrity of the concept

 

4) Project Handover

  • Upon project successfully delivered and implemented, conduct a proper handover to the line organization, and document lessons learnt through the project phases for future improvement

 

TOGETHER AS A TEAM

  • To deliver a new kind of home furnishing shopping journey and set up more customer meeting points to reach more of the many people
